Callicarpa dichtoma 'Early Amethyst'

Callicarpa dichotoma 'Early Amethyst'

Beautyberry is grown more for its fruit display than its flower.  Flower clusters that are pink to lavendar are positioned along the arching stems in summer and are followed by a beautiful display of lilac-purple berries that look like clusters of miniature grapes during September and October.  Flowering is best when the plant is positioned in full sun.  The plant blooms on new wood and its best to prune  hard to 6″ in late winter or early spring.  This will promote a compact plant and lots of flowers.
